Doug Ferguson serves as a Project Infrastructure Engineer II and has played a pivotal role within our dedicated Professional Services team for the past 3 and half years. In his role as a Project Infrastructure Engineer II, Doug begins each workday by checking his list of assigned project tasks for the day, ensuring he's well-prepared to tackle them. Doug showcases our brand promise, “Responsiveness”, by replying to any client emails along with internal emails and Teams messages. A crucial aspect of his job involves coordinating scheduling with clients and vendors, ensuring smooth project execution. He then configures project-related hardware, laying a solid foundation for successful implementations. His dedication and proficiency make him an invaluable asset to the Lloyd team.
When asked what his favorite part of his job is, Doug says, “I’m met with a consistent supply of tasks that don’t always have the exact same solution twice, which forces me to apply what I know to learn more. I also get to work with people I genuinely enjoy being around.”
Doug’s Story
I originally was a high school math teacher that moonlit as a member of the Geek Squad. I found myself with a huge amount of interpersonal skills and a good foundation for technology and problem-solving skills. After a decade as a member of the Geek Squad and almost the same amount of experience as a teacher, I changed careers to IT and applied the knowledge from both trades into one.
Despite the background I had, there was a wealth of information for me to take in at Lloyd. In the almost 4 years I have been at Lloyd, I can definitely say that my technical ability and depth of knowledge has drastically increased.
What makes you good at what you do?
My combination of being a perfectionist and having a relentless desire for knowledge enables me to excel in my role.
What are the contributing factors to your success since joining Lloyd?
The biggest factor to my success is my teammates. Whenever I’m at a loss or need to learn something, they’ve been there to help me out. After that, it would be my people skills and Google.
What do you love about being a Lloydian?
My favorite part about being a Lloydian is the support from the team and management, they genuinely want to see you succeed and improve.
What makes Lloyd different?
Of the MSPs I applied to, Lloyd is the only one that looked past the piece of paper I handed them and got to know me when deciding to hire me.

Honestly, I relate to each one. Being able to take ownership when you make mistakes, build relationships, and wanting to gain more knowledge in your field are all within that umbrella.
Get to Know Doug
I’m a brand-new father and a jack of all trades. I find myself interested in many different things and because of that I never have free time. But luckily, I’m just focusing on being a dad and a husband right now when I’m not doing project work. I’m also an avid gamer and musician.
