Danielle, our Lloydian Success Ambassador, has been an integral part of the Lloyd team for over two years and counting, marking her upcoming 2-year and 4-month "Lloydiversary" in just a few days! As a Lloydian Success Ambassador, Danielle's role encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities within the Lloydian Success team. Her primary focus revolves around human resources, culture, and administration, where she excels in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new talent, ensuring employee wellness, managing office operations and internal communications, orchestrating events, and fostering community relations. Danielle highlights her dedication and passion in every aspect of her work, embodying the spirit of Lloyd's values and contributing to the culture that defines our organization. Her proactive approach and keen attention to detail make her an invaluable asset in cultivating a supportive and fun workplace environment for our team.

Danielle's commitment to professional development is evident through her pursuit of certifications, including a “Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace” certification from ESSEC Business School, an Online/Hybrid Teaching certification from St. Francis College, and her ongoing studies toward obtaining her PMP (Project Management) certification.

“Danielle truly brings our core values (be human, be accountable, be better) to life. Her passion for enabling a supportive and inclusive workspace is contagious and holds all of us accountable. Her work directly contributes to our thriving culture.” – Mary, a fellow Lloydian

In Danielle’s dynamic role, her daily responsibilities can vary day-to-day. Typically, her mornings begin with fostering community spirit by extending warm birthday wishes and acknowledging the achievements of her fellow Lloydians. Danielle then dedicates her time to recruitment and onboarding, ensuring new hires feel welcomed and equipped with all the necessary resources for a smooth transition into the Lloydian community. In the afternoon, Danielle may conduct check-ins with fellow Lloydians, fostering a culture of feedback and continuous improvement. These discussions provide valuable insights into the Lloydian experience, allowing Lloyd to tailor our efforts to meet the evolving needs of the team. Additionally, Danielle takes the opportunity to coordinate internal learning sessions, known as a "LloydU," to promote growth and development among the organization. Her afternoons are dedicated to planning and coordinating events, both in-person and virtual. Danielle usually wraps the day up by preparing for tomorrow’s meetings and tasks.

When asked what her favorite part of her job is, Danielle says, My favorite part of my job is connecting with Lloydians! I love being able to make a positive difference in someone’s day, in small or big ways. Whether it’s making sure our office is supplied with what Lloydians need, helping them access the information or the tools they need to be successful, or generally being a friendly face that they can come to with issues or feedback.”

Danielle’s Story

I got my bachelor’s in political science and started working in the employee engagement space part-time when I was a freshman in college and took up part-time work in the political science department. Throughout my journey, I held varying internships in the legal field and the HR field. I wound up working full-time in the employee engagement tech space while pursuing my master’s degree in comparative politics. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted to do, but I knew it would help me get there. I spent about 6 years doing this. I wanted to work with people and use my skills to help foster and maintain a positive, productive environment where people can be happy at work or in the classroom, and that’s exactly what I do at Lloyd as a Lloydian Success Ambassador and at my alma mater as an adjunct professor of political science over the past few years.

What makes you good at what you do?

I care deeply about the work I do and am highly motivated. BUT, I also prioritize my mental health. I recognize that if I don’t make myself a priority, that can affect my work, in addition to other aspects of my life.

What are the contributing factors to your success since joining Lloyd?

I believe in Lloyd’s mission, and I’m able to see the impact of my work by connecting with the people I work with. It feels good to work for a tech company that values its people first, and in my role, I can be an advocate for that. This connects with who I am as a person so I can bring authenticity to what I do, which is a great motivator. Naturally, I have a strong work ethic, and Lloyd motivates me to apply myself and continue to “be better” – I can’t help myself but to go back to our core values!

What do you love about being a Lloydian?

I love being able to be myself and having the support to encourage others to do the same.

What makes Lloyd different?

The people! At Lloyd, there are people who genuinely want you to succeed – not only for the company but for yourself. I believe this fosters a motivated, high-energy environment.

How do you relate to one of Lloyd’s core values? (Be Human. Be Accountable. Be Better.)

I love all of our core values and it’s hard to choose one. I resonate strongly with all 3, not only at work but in my daily life. I do think the most important value to me is “Be Human.” This core value encourages understanding and kindness to yourself and others, which I think is a pillar of a successful cohort. It also recognizes that it’s the human being behind the work that is valuable, not just the work, which is always a good reminder and motivator for me, especially if I’m having a particularly tough day for whatever reason!

I’m Danielle! I recently moved from the city to the mountains with my partner, Shivam. We love nature, especially wildlife, so wildlife out here is a plus for us (we commonly see black bears in the summer!) I love learning and sharing knowledge, which is why I’ve been teaching gender and politics for the last few years, and why I love my role at Lloyd so much. I love to cook and hope to one day compete on an amateur competition like Gordon Ramsay’s “MasterChef.” I also love Hip Hop, not only as a genre of music but as a culture, and it’s what inspired me to pursue higher education. My partner, Shivam, is a music producer, and has been on Drake’s last two albums! Hip Hop is a major part of our life. So is food, and family!
