Microsoft Word includes a feature called Click and Type which allows you to format and enter text at the same time.* You can also use this feature in Microsoft Outlook, when typing or replying to emails.
Double-click your mouse in a blank area of your document and begin typing right away.
Depending on where you position the mouse pointer across the page, it will look different and Click and Type will behave in different ways:

Left aligned. If your mouse pointer looks like this, double-clicking your mouse will result in a left-aligned paragraph once you start typing.

Left aligned, first line indent. If your mouse pointer looks like this, double-clicking your mouse will result in a left-aligned paragraph with an indented first line once you start typing.

Centered. If your mouse pointer looks like this, double-clicking your mouse will result in a centered paragraph once you start typing.

Right aligned. If your mouse pointer looks like this, double-clicking your mouse will result in a right-aligned paragraph once you start typing.
* This only works if you are working in Print Layout or Web Layout view.
